Rotary Vane Biogas Compressor Package for Municipal Digester Gas Mixing
Ro-Flo rotary vane compressor units engineered for continuous digester gas recirculation at a municipal STP.

CRA supplied Ro-Flo rotary sliding vane biogas compressor units for digester gas mixing at the V-Vally sewage treatment project in Bangalore, for SUEZ India P. Ltd. Each unit is a Ro-Flo Model 19S rated at 2,700 m³/hr, running at 585 RPM and discharging at 2.15 barG, and was supplied as a complete, integration-ready package built to reuse the client's existing motor for safe, unattended gas recirculation.
Reliable Digester Gas Recirculation for Continuous Municipal STP Operation
The V-Vally STP required a compression solution that could:
- Deliver continuous, unattended digester gas recirculation in hazardous area duty
- Integrate with the client’s existing motor and site infrastructure rather than a full new drive train
- Hold stable flow and discharge pressure under continuous municipal operating conditions
- Meet fixed flanged connection sizing (10″ inlet / 8″ outlet) for a straightforward site tie-in
Ro-Flo Rotary Vane Compressor Package Built Around Existing Site Infrastructure
CRA engineered and supplied a Ro-Flo rotary sliding vane compressor package matched to the client’s existing motor and site conditions.
Core Components Delivered:
- Ro-Flo Model 19S compressor: 2,700 m³/hr flow rate, running at 585 RPM and discharging at 2.15 barG
- Liquid Cooling System: 60/40 glycol/water circuit for continuous-duty thermal management
- Mechanical Fit-Out: angled check valve, lubricator drive sheave, and lube pump system
- Site-Ready Connections: flanged 10″ inlet / 8″ outlet sizing for direct site integration
The package reuses the client’s existing motor, keeping the scope integration-ready rather than requiring a full new drive train.
Continuous, Unattended Digester Gas Mixing in Commissioned Service
The compressor package was commissioned and integrated with the client’s existing motor and control infrastructure, delivering continuous, unattended gas recirculation for digester mixing at the V-Vally STP. Stable flow and discharge pressure are maintained under normal municipal operating conditions, with the liquid cooling system supporting reliable continuous-duty performance.
Proven Ro-Flo Compression Capability for Municipal Biogas Applications
This project reflects CRA’s ability to deliver integration-ready gas compression skid packages for municipal digester gas mixing, built around a client’s existing infrastructure for a fast, low-disruption site tie-in.
