What is a Pressure Regulating Skid?
A pressure regulating skid reduces, controls, and stabilizes gas pressure between an upstream supply and downstream process or combustion equipment, protecting equipment and personnel from supply pressure fluctuations and over-pressurization.
How it works
Gas moves through inlet isolation, pressure regulation, and independent overpressure protection before it reaches the downstream setpoint.
Gas enters through inlet isolation and filtration, removing contaminants before it reaches the regulator.
Pressure regulators step down and stabilize the gas to the downstream setpoint.
Safety shut-off valves and relief devices provide an independent protection layer, closing automatically if outlet pressure exceeds the safe limit.
Regulator runs are often duplicated in active or standby configuration, allowing maintenance or changeout without interrupting gas supply.
Instrumentation monitors inlet and outlet pressure continuously throughout operation.
