What is a High Voltage Ignition System?

A high-voltage ignition (HVI) system generates a high-voltage electrical arc at the ignition electrode, delivering consistent spark energy to the pilot across elevated flare stacks and challenging ignition gaps where lower-voltage systems lose reliability.

A step-up transformer or solid-state module generates a high-voltage arc across the electrode gap, sized to bridge the specific distance and elevation of the installation.
