CRA is a recognised Integration Partner for Air Products Membrane Solutions. The recognition is a reflection of CRA's engineering capability across the full upgrading system: preconditioning, compression, and controls, built in-house and delivered as one integrated package.

The partnership exists because world-class membrane technology deserves a world-class engineered system built around it.

The Partnership

Air Products Membrane Solutions is one of the most established names in membrane-based gas separation, with over 270 biogas system references across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

As a recognised Integration Partner, CRA engineers the complete system around Air Products' membrane modules. That scope covers H₂S scrubbing, dehumidification, compression, and filtration, all designed, engineered, and manufactured in-house by CRA. Every component is specified to work as part of a single integrated gas train. The controls architecture ensures that the preconditioning stages protect the downstream membrane, and that the system responds as one if operating conditions shift at any point in the train.

The membrane modules are one part of that system. The engineering around them is what determines whether the system performs.

What This Means for Your Project

Membranes rarely fail on their own. They fail because the gas reaching the membrane inlet has not been properly conditioned: particulates, free liquids, compressor oil, siloxanes, residual H₂S. That upstream engineering is where most membrane upgrading projects are won or lost.

CRA designs the preconditioning to the membrane’s inlet specification, not to a generic industry standard. Filtration, drying, and H₂S removal are matched to the actual inlet gas composition and to what the membrane modules require at the flange. This is co-engineered with Air Products, not assembled from catalogue selections.

For the customer, the partnership delivers four things:

Fully integrated packages, co-engineered with Air Products, so the preconditioning is matched to the membrane’s inlet spec and the system is engineered to run for the life of the plant, not just to commission cleanly.

Direct Air Products technical support, including their engineers joining calls with your team to review the design basis and answer queries at the source.

Priority planning on membrane supply, so long-lead items are secured into the project schedule from the start, not managed as procurement risk during execution.

One accountable partner for the full system, inlet gas to pipeline-spec biomethane, with no split responsibility between a membrane supplier and a balance-of-plant contractor.

What’s Next

Biogas upgrading is scaling fast, across India’s CBG programme and in markets globally where biomethane infrastructure is accelerating. Each project at commercial scale requires an upgrading system that performs to a guaranteed biomethane specification, day after day, across variable feedstock and seasonal gas compositions.

CRA is positioned to deliver that system, with world class Gas Engineering at its core, and one point of accountability for the outcome.

Custom engineered. Properly scoped.
